Upcoming latest Xbox 360 Accessories is the Project Natal (pronounced [naˈtal], na-tal) is the code name for a “controller-free gaming and entertainment experience” by Microsoft for the Xbox 360 video game platform. Based on an add-on peripheral for the Xbox 360 console, it enables users to control and interact with the Xbox 360 without the need to touch a game controller through a natural user interface using gestures, spoken commands, or presented objects and images. The project is aimed at broadening the Xbox 360’s audience beyond its typical gamer base.

Project Natal was first announced on June 1, 2009 at E3 2009. Microsoft said that over a thousand software development kits began shipping to game developers that same day. It is scheduled to be released in time for Christmas 2010 (Natal itself means Christmas in Portuguese). Official pricing has not been announced yet.

Project Natal will reportedly also serve as the basis for a “new” Xbox 360. Though it is rumored that the launch of it will be accompanied with the release of a new Xbox 360 console (as either a new retail configuration, a significant design revision, and/or a modest hardware upgrade), Microsoft has dismissed the reports in public, and has repeatedly emphasized that it will be fully compatible with all Xbox 360 consoles. Microsoft indicates that it considers it to be a significant initiative, as fundamental to the Xbox brand as Xbox Live, and with a launch akin to that of a new Xbox console platform. Project Natal has even been referred to as a “new Xbox” by Microsoft chief executive officer Steve Ballmer at a speech for the Executives’ Club of Chicago. When asked if the introduction will extend the time before the next-generation console platform is launched (historically about 5 years between platforms), Microsoft corporate vice president Shane Kim reaffirmed that the company believes that the life cycle of the Xbox 360 will last through 2015 (10 years).

Here are the available Xbox 360 Games for Project Natal
Up-to-Date Project Natal Games List

    * Project Natal Paint Party
* Project Natal Meet Milo
* Project Natal Ricochet
* Alan Wake (a psychological thriller)
* Burnout Paradise (seen in demo videos)

Apple has come under fire for refusing to honour its “Applecare” warranty due to cigarette smoke residue being a considered “biohazard,” and hence unsafe to work with.

Critics point out that this is far from standard industry practice, and is mentioned nowhere in the warranty…

Several US Mac users report problems getting their faulty Macs serviced as a result of the policy:

I bought an iMac for my son (for school) along with the extended Applecare warranty. A month ago, it quit working. My son took it to the authorized Mac service center. The “tech” informed him it would be ready in 48-72 hours. Five days go by and he’s heard nothing, so I called. They informed me that his computer can’t be worked on because it’s contaminated.

When I asked for an explanation, she said he’s a smoker and it’s contaminated with cigarette smoke which they consider a bio-hazard! I checked my Applecare warranty and it says nothing about not honoring warranties if the owner is a smoker.

The Applecare representative said they defer to the technician and my son’s computer cannot be fixed at any Apple Service Center due to being listed a bio-hazard.

This computer cost approx. $3,000, with the extended warranty. I’m all for destroying cigarettes and putting big tobacco out of business (yes, I’m a reformed smoker), but to label a computer a biohazard because one is a smoker is going a bit too far in regulating who can have the warranty they purchased honored.

Shouldn’t there be some disclaimer stating that they won’t honor warranties from smokers?

There’s no words on Apple on its refusal to service these “contaminated” Macs.

Refined, not reinvented.

Mac OS X is renowned for its simplicity, its reliability, and its ease of use. So when it came to designing Snow Leopard, Apple engineers had a single goal: to make a great thing even better. They searched for areas to refine, further simplify, and speed up — from little things like ejecting external drives to big things like installing the OS. In many cases, they elevated great to amazing. Here are just a few examples of how your Mac experience was fine-tuned.
A more advanced, more nimble Finder.
64-bit and Finder Icons

The Finder has been completely rewritten in Cocoa to take advantage of all the modern technologies in Mac OS X, including 64-bit support and Grand Central Dispatch. It’s more responsive from top to bottom, with snappier performance throughout the Finder. And it includes new features such as customizable Spotlight search options and an enhanced icon view that lets you thumb through a multipage document or watch a QuickTime movie.
